“‘I want the vinyl for home listening on my stereo, but I want it on my iPod for on the go too,’ says Seth Hubbard, Label Manager of Polyvinyl Records. Record owners were penalized by having their music trapped in one place while CD and iTunes (iTunes) purchasers were free to roam.
“‘It made it more difficult for them to move music that was actually purchased from one place to the other, and that seemed like sort of a problem,’ says Chris Jacobs, General Manager at Sub Pop Records.”
